Organ recital: Vincent Dubois

Some of the most popular concert pieces illustrate the immense expressive range of the grand organ of Notre-Dame, at the time of its restoration, in all its diversity, from repertoire to transcriptions.
From Bach to Vierne, Rachmaninoff to Ravel, they highlight the timelessness of an instrument that its builder, Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, in 1868, designed to mirror the symphony orchestra.
Two excerpts from Olivier Messiaen’s La Nativité cycle, including the famous finale Dieu parmi nous, will conclude this Christmas concert.
